Upon arrival at Hanoi Airport, meet your driver for the transfer to your hotel in the city center. After check-in and some time to rest, meet your local guide and begin your introduction to the historic heart of Hanoi.
Start at Dong Xuan Market, then continue on foot through the surrounding streets of the Hanoi Old Quarter, where traditional shop houses, local trading and everyday street life reveal the character of the capital’s historic commercial district.
Next, enjoy a hands-on egg coffee experience and learn how this distinctive Hanoi drink is prepared before tasting your own cup. From there, walk toward Hoan Kiem Lake for a guided visit inside Ngoc Son Temple.
Complete the afternoon or early evening with a traditional water puppet performance near the lake. Afterwards, the evening is free for dinner and independent exploration.

After breakfast, leave Hanoi and travel north toward Bac Ha, watching the scenery gradually change from lowland countryside to the mountain landscapes of northern Vietnam.
After approximately five hours on the road, stop for lunch before continuing to Ban Pho Village. Take a leisurely guided walk of around one hour through a Flower Hmong community, learning about local village life, traditional houses and farming practices along the way.
Later in the afternoon, continue to Na Lo Village, where you will settle into a local Tay family homestay. The rest of the day offers time to relax and experience the quieter pace of rural life before dinner is served at the homestay.

Begin the morning at an active weekly ethnic market in the Bac Ha region, selected according to the day of the week and the confirmed departure date.
These traditional markets remain important gathering places for Flower Hmong, Dao, Tay, Phu La, Nung and other ethnic communities from the surrounding mountains. Explore the market with your guide while observing stalls selling agricultural produce, local food, textiles and livestock, as well as the social exchanges between villagers who come to trade and meet friends and relatives.
After lunch at a local restaurant, travel approximately 6 km from Bac Ha to Ngai Phu Cho, an area inhabited by the Phu La community.
Spend the afternoon on a leisurely guided walk of around two hours through the valley, passing rural settlements and terraced farmland. The walk provides a closer look at the agricultural landscape and everyday village environment before returning to Bac Ha.
Activity Level: Easy to moderate, with approximately two hours of walking on rural paths.

This morning, visit Hoang A Tuong Palace, a distinctive historic residence in Bac Ha, before leaving town and beginning the journey toward Ha Giang.
The route passes through mountain valleys, rice fields, palm-covered hills and small rural villages, offering changing views of northern Vietnam’s countryside. Break for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to the next destination.
By late afternoon, arrive at Tha Village, home to a Tay community. Take a short guided walk through the village, where traditional houses, farming activities and everyday rural life provide an introduction to the local setting.
Settle into a Tay family homestay equipped with shower and hot-water facilities, then enjoy dinner and spend the night in the village.

Leave Tha Village after breakfast and begin the journey into the dramatic landscapes of the Dong Van Karst Plateau.
Travel first toward Quan Ba Heaven Gate, stopping at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the distinctive Quan Ba Twin Mountains and surrounding valleys.
Continue to Lung Tam, an Hmong village known for its traditional weaving and textile crafts. Learn about techniques preserved by local women and the role these handicrafts continue to play in community life.
The journey then continues through the mountains to Yen Minh, where lunch is served.
In the afternoon, travel deeper into the limestone plateau toward Sung La. Here, take a leisurely guided walk among traditional Hmong houses, cultivated fields and the old earthen-and-wooden house associated with the Vietnamese film The Story of Pao.
Continue to Sa Phin Valley for a visit to the historic Hmong King’s Palace, an important heritage site in the region.

Continue toward the river access area for a boat excursion on the Nho Que River. Cruise through Tu San Gorge, where steep limestone cliffs rise above the water and provide a striking perspective on the surrounding mountain landscape.

Set out on a guided walk to a remote San Chi ethnic minority village, covering approximately 6 km round trip along rural paths. The route offers a quieter glimpse of northern Vietnam, passing traditional stilt houses, small-scale farmland and rural landscapes away from the busier tourism centers.
Spend some time in the village learning about the local environment and everyday community life before walking back to the vehicle.
Continue the journey toward Ba Be, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, travel through the mountainous area around Tinh Tuc, where karst formations and rural scenery accompany the route. Suitable scenic stops may be made when road, weather and visibility conditions allow.

Today is dedicated to exploring the waterways and limestone landscapes of Ba Be National Park.
After breakfast, board a motorboat for a full-day journey across Ba Be Lake, travelling through peaceful waterways framed by forested limestone mountains, riverside villages and rural scenery.
Continue along the Nang River toward Puong Cave, where the river flows directly through an impressive limestone formation.
During the excursion, disembark for a short guided walk through a Tay village, offering an opportunity to observe local houses and everyday life within the community.
Enjoy lunch at a local riverside setting before continuing toward Dau Dang Waterfall. From the boat landing, follow a short natural trail through the national park to reach the waterfall, where the Nang River flows through rocky terrain surrounded by dense vegetation.
After the visit, return by boat through the waterways and walk back to your homestay in Pac Ngoi Village. Dinner is served at the homestay, followed by a second overnight stay at Ba Be.

After breakfast at the homestay, leave Pac Ngoi Village and visit Hua Ma Cave, located southwest of Ba Be National Park.
Explore the cave with your guide and admire its limestone formations along a cavern extending for more than 500 metres.
Afterwards, begin the approximately 250 km journey back to Hanoi, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant along the way.
Later in the journey, travel through Thai Nguyen tea country, an area characterized by tea-growing landscapes. If timing and local conditions allow, make a short stop in the countryside to stretch your legs and gain a glimpse of local agricultural life.
Continue toward Hanoi and arrive in the capital in the late afternoon. Settle into your hotel, then enjoy the rest of the evening at your own pace.
