Explore Angkor Wat from the quieter East Gate to the West Gate, with insights into its religious meaning, architecture, bas-reliefs and Apsara carvings. Continue through Angkor Thom’s South Gate to Bayon and the neighbouring royal monuments before sharing a homemade Khmer lunch in a local family’s garden. In the afternoon, travel through the countryside to the red-sandstone sanctuary of Banteay Srei, then return towards Siem Reap via Ta Prohm, where enormous tree roots stretch across ancient walls.

After breakfast at your hotel under your accommodation arrangement, meet your local guide and driver at approximately 07:30 and begin a day of exploration through the remarkable temples of Angkor.
Start at Angkor Wat, Cambodia’s most iconic ancient monument. Enter through the quieter East Gate and walk across the temple complex from east to west as your guide explains its religious significance, architectural design, narrative bas-reliefs and graceful Apsara carvings. Conclude the visit near the West Gate, with a brief opportunity for photographs before continuing.
Next, travel to Angkor Thom, the former royal capital of the Khmer Empire, entering through its monumental South Gate. Explore Bayon Temple, renowned for the serene stone faces rising above its towers, before continuing to Baphuon, the Royal Enclosure and the Terrace of the Elephants. Learn about the historical, architectural and ceremonial importance of these monuments, with short periods available for photography and personal exploration at selected locations.
At midday, enjoy an included homemade Khmer lunch at the residence of Mr Peout and Mrs Gin. Relax in the family’s peaceful garden while sampling local dishes and learning about everyday life in Cambodia. During this respectful cultural exchange, your hosts may also share personal reflections on the country’s past and the social changes they have witnessed over recent decades.
In the afternoon, travel through the Cambodian countryside to Banteay Srei, a beautifully preserved temple built from distinctive red sandstone. Although smaller than the principal monuments of Angkor, it is particularly admired for its intricate carvings, finely detailed decorative scenes and exceptional craftsmanship. The guided visit offers a closer look at the artistic traditions of classical Khmer architecture, while the journey provides views of the rural landscapes beyond the main Angkor complex.
On the return journey towards Siem Reap, visit Ta Prohm, one of the most atmospheric temples within the Angkor Archaeological Park. Walk through shaded courtyards, narrow galleries and forest-covered ruins, where enormous tree roots extend across ancient stone walls. This striking relationship between nature and architecture has made Ta Prohm one of Angkor’s most recognisable sites and a well-known filming location featured in Tomb Raider.
After completing the temple visits, return to Siem Reap and unwind with an included one-hour traditional Khmer foot massage. At the end of the tour, your guide and driver will transfer you back to your hotel or another convenient location in central Siem Reap.

- Bring sunscreen, a hat, and water during hot months

Payment
- A 30% deposit of the total Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Banteay Srei & Ta Prohm Private Day Tour price is required upon booking.
- The remaining balance is due at least 10 days before departure.
- After the deposit is made, cancellations will result in the deposit being non-refundable.
Cancellations
- In the event of cancellations, the following conditions will apply:
- More than 10 days before departure: 30% of total tour price
- 5–10 days before departure: 50% of total tour price
- 3–5 days before departure: 75% of total tour price
- Within 3 days before departure or no-show: 100% of total tour price
- Tour cancellation time is calculated based on working days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and New Year.
Refunds
- Any applicable refunds will be processed after deducting relevant fees and banking charges.
- The time it takes to receive your refund may vary based on your payment provider.
- Please provide your hotel name and address before the tour
- Angkor Wat is explored from the quieter East Gate towards the West Gate
- The tour involves extended walking, uneven stone pathways and temple steps
- Short periods for photography and personal exploration may be available at selected sites
- The order or timing of visits may be adjusted slightly due to traffic, weather, temple access or local operating conditions
- Public holiday surcharges, if applicable, will be advised before booking confirmation
- Vegetarian meals or other dietary requests should be shared in advance
- Infants under 2 years old: Free of charge; any required entrance fees are payable directly, if applicable.
- Children from 2 to under 12 years old: Charged at 75% of the adult price for this day tour.
- Children aged 12 years and above: Charged at the full adult price.
- A child’s age is calculated based on the date of travel.
