Start your day with an optional early morning activity: participating in the unique alms giving ritual to saffron-clad monks, a tradition exclusive to Laos. Witness this procession and immerse yourself in the local culture. Afterward, take a moment to explore the vibrant local markets before returning to the hotel for breakfast.

In the morning, embark on a visit to Wat Visoun, where you'll find the impressive Thad Makmo stupa with its distinctively Sinhalese style. Next, explore Wat Aham and make a stop at the iconic Vat Xiengthong temple, known for being one of the most photographed temples in the area. It is situated at the tip of a peninsula near the confluence of the Mekong and Khan Rivers.

In the afternoon, continue your exploration with a visit to the former Royal Palace, which has now been transformed into the National Museum. Discover the rich history and cultural heritage housed within its walls. Then, proceed to Wat Mai, a renowned temple famous for its exquisite golden bas-relief. During Pimai, the Lao New Year, the Prabang, usually kept in the Royal Palace Museum, is brought here for public display.

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up and taken to a venue located in a charming village overlooking picturesque rice fields. Here, you will have the unique opportunity to participate in the Bamboo Experience (closed on Sundays). Learn about the versatile uses of bamboo and engage in nostalgic childhood games involving metal balls and crossbow arrows. Under the guidance of an expert teacher, take part in a bamboo weaving course. With a knife, cut bamboo into pieces and spend an hour weaving them to create your very own mat, which you can keep as a special memento.

Next, delve into the culinary aspect of bamboo as you learn how to cook traditional dishes like bamboo shoot soup and bamboo shoot with banana leaf served with sticky rice. Afterward, indulge in your delectable creations in a traditional Laotian house designed in a pavilion style.

In the afternoon, venture to the outskirts of Luang Prabang, passing through verdant rice paddies and farms. Make stops at a few villages inhabited by the H'mong and Lao Loum people, where your guide will introduce you to the locals. This presents a wonderful opportunity to engage in their daily activities such as wooden cotton spinning, weaving, rice harvesting, and tending to green vegetable farms. Upon reaching the stunning Kuang Si Falls, marvel at the main waterfalls, surrounded by orchids within the park. These falls cascade over numerous calcified tiers, descending several hundred feet into a series of refreshing turquoise pools.

In the morning, embark on a scenic drive to Nong Khiew. Along the way, make a stop to visit the vibrant Nam Park Market and explore the charming Ban Nayang village. Upon arrival in Nong Khiew, you will have free time to enjoy lunch at your own leisure.

Afterward, board a boat for a relaxing cruise along the Nam Ou River. The cruise, lasting approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, will take you to the picturesque Ban Sojam village, where you can immerse yourself in the local life and culture. Continue your cruise to Muong Ngoy, a tranquil destination known for its natural beauty. Upon arrival, check-in at the guesthouse and settle in for your stay.

Day 5: Muang Ngoy – Pak Ou – Luang Prabang (Breakfast) October 11, 2024

After enjoying breakfast, embark on a boat to cruise back to Nong Khiew. Along the way, make a stop to visit the authentic village of Houi Hoy, situated on the banks of the Nam Ou River.

From Nong Khiew, proceed with a scenic drive to Luang Prabang. En route, take the opportunity to visit the Pak Ou Caves, nestled at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Ou Rivers. These caves house hundreds of sacred Buddha images, some of which date back several centuries. They are revered and attract pilgrims during the Lao New Year festivities around mid-April.

Continue your journey to Luang Prabang, where you will arrive and check-in at your hotel, ready to immerse yourself in the charms of this historic city.

Transfer from your hotel to Luang Prabang airport for your flight to Pakse. Upon arrival in Pakse, you will be warmly welcomed by a local guide who will accompany you on your journey. Begin by transferring to the enchanting Bolaven Plateau.

As you depart from Pakse, the road gradually ascends in elevation, taking you up onto the picturesque Plateau. This region, characterized by its volcanic rock, is renowned for its exceptional tea and coffee plantations. These plantations thrive in the fertile soil and cooler climate of the area.

During your visit to the Bolaven Plateau, you will have the opportunity to explore the mesmerizing Tad Fane Waterfall. Additionally, a pleasant walk or drive through the coffee plantations for approximately 2 kilometers will lead you to the stunning Tad Yuang Waterfall.

In the afternoon, you will be transferred back to Pakse, concluding your exploration of the captivating Bolaven Plateau.

Continue your journey to the 4000 Islands area, where you will have the opportunity to visit the magnificent Khone Phapheng Waterfall. Admire the power and grandeur of this natural wonder as you take in the breathtaking views.

Next, drive to Don Khong Island, the largest island situated in the Mekong River in southern Laos. Day 8: Done Khong – Done Khone – Pakse (Breakfast) October 14, 2024

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Ban Nakasang village, where your journey continues with a cruise on a long-tail boat to Khone Island. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to explore and discover remnants from the French colonial era, including an old pier, a stream railway, and French buildings that still stand today. Take a step back in time as you retrace this fascinating period in history.

Next, visit the breathtaking Liphi Waterfall, a must-see for waterfall enthusiasts. Marvel at the natural beauty and power of this stunning waterfall, immersing yourself in its awe-inspiring surroundings.

Afterward, cruise back to Nakasang village and continue your journey to your hotel in Pakse, enjoying the scenic route along the way. Take in the picturesque landscapes and soak up the atmosphere as you make your way back to your accommodation in Pakse.

You have free time until your scheduled transfer by our driver to the airport for your international flight. Take this opportunity to relax, explore the surroundings, or engage in any last-minute activities or sightseeing that you desire. Ensure you have packed your belongings and completed any necessary check-out procedures.

Once ready, our driver will transport you to the airport, ensuring a smooth and timely transfer for your departure.

End of Laos itinerary 9 days.

  • Domestic air tickets are not included, we will purchase them when you finalize the tour date.
  • Surcharged for Gala dinner on 24th and 31st December if any.
  • The timing of check-in and check-out at the hotels: Check-in at 14:00, check-out at 12:00. (Early check-in/late check-out is upon your request).
  • A single supplement is required if you are traveling alone.
  • The triple room is possible upon your request.

Thing To Carry

  • All customers participating in the tour must have a passport and identification document when leaving the country.
  • Backpack, toiletry bag, sunscreen/cap, water bottles, camera(optional), extra pair of clothes, personal medication, track pants and cotton T-shirt, sweater/ warm jackets for the night.
  • Dry fruits, energy bar, chocolates, torch per person with extra batteries, moov spray, dettol solution or salt to avoid leeches, sports shoes or trekking shoes or comfortable shoes with good grip, personal hygiene items: medicine, face towel, shower gel, brush, toothpaste.

Cancellation Policy

  • Deposit 50% tour price when signing up and pay the remaining amount 10 days before starting date.
  • In case of tour cancellation: (Tour cancellation time is calculated by working days, excluding Saturday, Sunday and public holidays and New Year).
  • After the deposit, if you cancel the tour, the company will not refund the deposit.
  • If you cancel or change the tour within 20 - 29 working days before the departure date, please pay the fee of: 70% of the tour price.
  • If you cancel or change the tour within 10 - 19 working days before the departure date, please pay the fee of: 90% of the tour price.
  • If you cancel or change the tour 9 working days before the departure date, please pay the fee of: 100% of the tour value.

* Notes:

  • Your passport must be valid for more than 6 months from the date of return.
  • If you are a foreigner or overseas Vietnamese, please bring all your passports (bring both passports in case you have 2 citizenships), and Vietnamese visa (attached to your passport or separate sheet) while on tour.
  • Please follow according to the tour program, do not separate from the group. If there is a need to separate from the group, please notify the consultant when registering for the tour for more information and additional costs (if any).
  • Customers aged 70 years or older require a health certificate to travel abroad from a doctor and must be accompanied by a relative under 60 years old (healthy). Guests over 75 years old, please pay a premium insurance (the fee varies depending on the tour).
  • The program may change depending on the flight situation, the hotel in at the site will be officially confirmed on the day of the group meeting, 2-3 days before the departure date. The attractions may not be in the order in the program. During the peak weeks in the site, the hotel may not be in the central area but still ensure the hotel standard according to the program.

Refund Policy

  • In case of cancellation of the tour right after registration until 10 days before the departure date, you will be subject to a 30% penalty on the travel fare.
  • In case of cancellation of the tour within 5-10 days before the departure date, you will be charged 50% of the travel fare.
  • In case of cancellation of the tour within 3-5 days before the departure date, you will be charged 75% of the travel fare.
  • If you cancel the tour within 0 – 3 days before the departure date, you will be charged 100% of the travel fare.

* Notes:

  • In case of tour cancellation due to objective incidents such as natural disasters, epidemics, postponement and cancellation of transportations service... Tourist will not be responsible for any additional compensation other than refund tour fee.
  • Above is the maximum cancellation penalty, this cost can be reduced depending on the conditions of each service provider for Tourist.
  • The tour cancellation time is calculated for working days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays and New Year.
  • If the travel program is canceled or changed by either party due to a force majeure reason (fire, weather, accident, natural disaster, war, delay and cancellation of the public transport plus…), the two parties will not bear any obligation to compensate for the loss that has occurred and not bear any liability. However, each party is responsible for trying its best to help the aggrieved party to minimize losses caused by force majeure.

Children Policy

  • Children under 2 years old: 30% of adult price (baby sharing bed with parents).
  • Children from 2 to under 12 years old: 90% of adult price (kid sharing bed with parents) / 100% of adult price (kid has their own bed).
  • Children from 12 years old and up: 100% of the adult price.

    Auasia Travel 5-star holiday!!

    Laos is so beautiful!!! I have changed my point of view about Laos after the trip. This place is such a gem. Tad Fane waterfall and Liphi waterfall are stunning. But Khone Phapheng Waterfall is the best out of all. no wonder it is called "Niagara of Asia".
