After breakfast under your own arrangement, meet your guide at your centrally located Hanoi hotel at approximately 07:00 and begin the journey towards Cao Bang in Northeast Vietnam. Along the way, stop at Chi Lang Pass, a strategically important mountain passage associated with several significant events in Vietnamese history.
Continue to a local restaurant for lunch before visiting the Dong Khe Historical Site in the early afternoon. Accompanied by your guide, explore the memorial grounds and remaining historical traces while learning about the area’s important role in the 1950 Border Campaign.
Later, travel to Phia Thap Incense Village, a traditional Nung An community known for its long-established incense-making craft. After checking in at a family-run homestay, join your guide for a walk through the village, observe how incense is made by hand and gain insight into local customs, traditional livelihoods and everyday rural life.
Return to the homestay for dinner prepared by your hosts and spend the night in the village.

After breakfast at the homestay, depart with your guide for Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda, a peaceful Buddhist complex set on a hillside near the Vietnam–China border. Walk through the temple grounds, admire its traditional Vietnamese architecture and enjoy panoramic views across the surrounding karst landscape.
Continue to Ban Gioc Waterfall, where impressive cascades flow through a dramatic setting of limestone mountains and green riverbanks. Spend time exploring the riverside area and appreciating the natural scenery before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, travel to Nguom Ngao Cave and follow the marked visitor path through its limestone chambers. Along the way, observe the varied stalactites and stalagmites that have formed into distinctive natural shapes.
In the afternoon, continue to Phong Nam Village, a tranquil rural area characterised by rice fields, winding waterways, traditional settlements and striking karst peaks. Spend time exploring the peaceful landscape before returning to Phia Thap Village in the late afternoon for dinner and a second overnight stay at the homestay.
Travel note: This day involves moderate walking, including steps and an uphill section within the pagoda grounds. Surfaces around the waterfall and inside the cave may be uneven or slippery. Comfortable walking shoes with good grip, lightweight clothing and suitable sun or rain protection are recommended. Visitors should wear clothing that covers the shoulders and knees when entering the pagoda.

After breakfast at the homestay, say goodbye to your hosts and travel to Phuc Sen Blacksmith Village, a traditional Nung community renowned for its long-established metal-forging craft.
Accompanied by your guide, visit local family workshops and observe skilled artisans shaping farming tools and household implements by hand. Learn how traditional blacksmithing techniques have been preserved and passed down through generations within the community.
After the visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before beginning the approximately 280-kilometre journey back to Hanoi. Short comfort stops will be made along the way, depending on traffic and road conditions. Arrive at your centrally located Hanoi hotel in the evening, marking the end of your three-day Cao Bang and Ban Gioc Waterfall tour.

- The remaining balance is due at least 10 days before departure.
- Once your booking is confirmed, the deposit becomes non-refundable as hotels, guides and local services may be reserved in advance.

- In the event of cancellations, the following conditions will apply:
- More than 10 days before departure: 30% of total tour price
- 6–10 days before departure: 50% of the total tour price
- 3–5 days before departure: 75% of total tour price
- Within 3 days before departure or no-show: 100% of total tour price
- Cancellation deadlines are calculated based on working days in Vietnam, excluding weekends and public holidays. Please contact our team if your cancellation request falls close to a deadline.
Refunds
- Any applicable refunds will be processed after deducting relevant fees and banking charges.
- The time it takes to receive your refund may vary based on your payment provider.
- Hotel rooms are typically available from 14:00 and should be vacated by 12:00
- Early check-in or late check-out is available upon request (subject to availability and surcharge)
