Day 1: Siem Reap Arrival - Angkor Visit (No-meals) December 22, 2024
Arrive at Siem Reap airport and transfer to your hotel. Siem Reap is the closest town to the Angkor temple complex, which was the center of a sophisticated civilization from the 9th to 13th century. In Cambodia, you will witness impressive stone monuments, grand causeways, magnificent gateways, and towers, all nestled in a beautiful jungle.
Enjoy self-service meals during your stay.
Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 2: Discovery Of Angkor Wat - Ta Prohm - Angkor Thom - Bayon – Bakheng Sunset (Breakfast) December 23, 2024
Start your day with an early breakfast at the hotel. To beat the crowds, your guide and driver will pick you up at 6:30 am to visit Angkor Wat Temple. This architectural marvel is one of the world's most impressive ruins, offering a deep understanding of Khmer culture and civilization. Explore the temple's three levels, marvel at the intricate stone carvings depicting Apsaras from the Angkor period.
Next, we will drive to Srah Srang, the royal pool where King Jayavarman VII bathed in the 12th century. Afterward, we will take a leisurely walk through a village and visit a local house for a unique experience of high tea and a picnic breakfast. The friendly hosts will greet you as friends, offering fresh fruits, snacks, coffee, hot tea, and a delightful picnic breakfast.
Our journey continues to Ta Prohm, famously known as the "Tomb Raider" temple. This captivating site has been partially reclaimed by the jungle, creating a haunting and exotic atmosphere. The intertwining tree roots embracing the temple's stone blocks provide an unforgettable sight that captures the essence of the site's harmony between man and nature. With fewer tourists around, you can truly appreciate the magic of this place.
Return to the hotel for a lunch break (lunch on your own).
In the afternoon, we will explore the mysterious Royal City of Angkor Thom. The awe-inspiring 50-tower temple will leave you in awe. At first glance, it may appear as a shapeless mass of stone, but upon closer inspection, you'll discover faces staring back at you. As you walk along the 8-meter-high wall through the forest, you'll reach the less crowded Death Gate. Pass by the Terraces of Elephants and Leper King, immersing yourself in the shaded parkland as you visit Phimeanakas and Baphuon temples. Along the way, you'll learn about the local trees and fruits used in the area. The afternoon will culminate with a visit to the iconic Bayon temple, famous for its carved faces.
To end the day, enjoy a mesmerizing sunset from Phnom Bakheng, one of the two hills that dominate the Angkor plain. From this vantage point, you will have a spectacular view of the Western Baray and Angkor Wat.
Return to the hotel and have dinner at your own leisure.
Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 3: Visit Of Banteay Srei - Roluos Temples (Breakfast, Lunch) December 24, 2024
After breakfast, the Cambodia 4-day tour will take you to the captivating Banteay Srei temple. This unique temple is renowned for its intricate pink sandstone carvings that adorn every inch of the structure.
Following the visit to Banteay Srei, we will embark on a car journey to a chain of hills. After approximately an hour, we will arrive near Kbal Spien, where the adventure continues on foot. We will walk along a white sand path that winds through the enchanting jungle. Keep in mind that the path may occasionally become narrow and steep.
After about 40 minutes of walking, you will be greeted by the sound of a nearby waterfall. Although the initial sight may seem ordinary, the riverbed and rocks surrounding the waterfall are adorned with ancient carvings representing gods from the Brahma religion. Dating back to the 11th century, these carvings feature sculptures of deities such as Vishnu, Lakshmi, Hanuman, Rama, and numerous Lingas. These intricately carved stone sculptures were created to sanctify the water and show gratitude to the gods. The allure of the cascading waterfall will beckon you to explore further. With the help of bamboo stairs to navigate a few steep passages, you will discover the breathtaking beauty of the waterfall nestled within the small gorge.
Lunch will be enjoyed with a picnic at the foot of the hill or at a local restaurant.
Next, we will visit Banteay Samre, a temple celebrated for its elaborate architecture and exceptional carvings. You will have the opportunity to marvel at the intricate details of this temple. Additionally, we will explore a local village and visit the Baray Oriental sites, which were constructed under the reign of Rajendravarman. This includes Banteay Kdey, Pré Rup, Preasat Khleang, and Mébon Oriental.
Dinner will be self-service.
Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 4: Boat Ride On Tonle Sap Lake - Silk Center - Departure (Breakfast, Lunch) December 25, 2024
After breakfast, we will embark on a delightful boat ride on the Tonle Sap Lake. As the largest permanent fresh-water lake in Southeast Asia, it eventually merges with the Tonle Sap River, which then joins the Mekong River in Phnom Penh.
During our Angkor tour, we will have the opportunity to witness a unique sight: a fishermen's "floating village." This remarkable village floats on the lake and features various amenities such as floating schools and even a floating police station. It's like a large village that moves from one location to another, adapting to changes in water levels and currents.
