The Hanoi Heritage Day Tour with Old Quarter & Water Puppet Show is a full-day guided experience beginning and ending at your hotel in Hanoi. The journey introduces the capital’s political, religious and historical heritage through Ba Dinh Square, the exterior of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Tran Quoc Pagoda and the thought-provoking Hoa Lo Prison Relic.
After an included lunch at a local restaurant, pause for photographs near Long Bien Bridge before exploring Hanoi’s historic commercial quarter on foot. Walk through the lively surroundings of Dong Xuan Market, the colourful displays of Hang Ma Street and the traditional herbal medicine shops of Lan Ong Street, followed by a visit to Bach Ma Temple. At a local café, enjoy an included Vietnamese egg coffee and learn how this signature Hanoi drink is prepared. A photo stop around Hanoi Train Street is also planned when local access and safety conditions permit.
The day concludes with a traditional water puppet show, combining live music, folklore and scenes of rural Vietnamese life, followed by a comfortable transfer back to your Hanoi hotel.

Meet your guide in Hanoi and begin your full-day exploration at Ba Dinh Square. See the exterior of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and gain insight into President Ho Chi Minh’s role in modern Vietnamese history.
Continue to Tran Quoc Pagoda, one of Hanoi’s oldest Buddhist landmarks, peacefully situated on a small peninsula beside West Lake.
Next, visit the Hoa Lo Prison Relic, where preserved cells, historical artefacts and informative exhibitions reveal the site’s history during the French colonial period and its later role during the Vietnam War. American prisoners of war famously nicknamed the prison the “Hanoi Hilton.”
After the visit, enjoy an included lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, make a brief photo stop near the historic Long Bien Bridge before beginning a guided Hanoi Old Quarter walking tour.
Experience the lively atmosphere around Dong Xuan Market, pass the colourful shopfronts of Hang Ma Street and see the traditional herbal medicine stores along Lan Ong Street. Continue to Bach Ma Temple, one of the oldest temples associated with the ancient capital of Thang Long.

Later, visit the area around Hanoi Train Street for photographs when local access and safety conditions permit. Access cannot be guaranteed, and your guide will adjust this part of the itinerary if restrictions are in place at the time of travel.
Complete the day by attending a traditional water puppet show, a distinctive Vietnamese art form combining live music, folklore and scenes inspired by rural life.
After the performance, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Hanoi, where the Hanoi Heritage Day Tour concludes.

Payment
- A 30% deposit of the total Hanoi Day Tour price is required upon booking.
- The remaining balance is due at least 10 days before departure.
- After the deposit is made, cancellations of the Hanoi city tour will result in the deposit being non-refundable.
Cancellations
- In the event of cancellations, the following conditions will apply:
- More than 10 days before departure: 30% of total tour price
- 5–10 days before departure: 50% of total tour price
- 3–5 days before departure: 75% of total tour price
- Within 3 days before departure or no-show: 100% of total tour price
- Tour cancellation time is calculated based on working days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and New Year.
Refunds
- Any applicable refunds will be processed after deducting relevant fees and banking charges.
- The time it takes to receive your refund may vary based on your payment provider.
- The tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off within central Hanoi. Kindly provide your accommodation information beforehand
- The itinerary may be adjusted slightly depending on traffic, local access, or on-site operating conditions
- Public holiday surcharges, if applicable, will be advised before booking confirmation
- Vegetarian meals or other dietary requests should be shared in advance
- Infants under 2 years old: Free of charge; any required entrance fees are payable directly, if applicable.
- Children from 2 to under 12 years old: Charged at 75% of the adult price for this day tour.
- Children aged 12 years and above: Charged at the full adult price.
- A child’s age is calculated based on the date of travel.
