Our first visit was to Quang Phu Cau incense village, where the colorful displays of incense were beautiful to see in person. The vibrant surroundings made this part of the Hanoi incense village tour especially memorable, and it was interesting to learn more about a craft that remains part of Vietnamese daily life.
We then continued to Chuong conical hat village, where we learned about the careful work involved in making the traditional Vietnamese hat. Having the chance to try part of the process ourselves made the visit feel more personal and enjoyable.
The highlight for me was the pottery experience in Bat Trang pottery village. It was my first time trying pottery, and I found it more difficult than expected at the beginning. Our guide was very patient and encouraging, which helped me relax and enjoy the experience rather than worry about getting it right. We had a fantastic day on the Hanoi Craft Village Experience: Incense, Conical Hat & Pottery Workshop with Auasia Travel, guided by Sunny. It was one of the most enjoyable cultural experiences of our time in Hanoi.
Our day began at Quang Phu Cau incense village, where the colorful bundles of incense created such a beautiful and memorable setting. It was not only a great place for photos, but also an interesting introduction to a traditional Vietnamese craft that we knew very little about before the visit.
Next, we continued to Chuong conical hat village. Learning about how the traditional Vietnamese conical hat is made gave us a much better appreciation for the skill and patience involved. We were also able to try making one ourselves, which made the experience even more enjoyable and personal.
In the afternoon, we visited Bat Trang pottery village for a hands-on pottery workshop. Creating something ourselves was great fun, and seeing more of the village afterward helped us understand the importance of local craftsmanship.
Sunny was a wonderful guide throughout the day: friendly, knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. His guidance made the tour feel relaxed and genuinely engaging.
