After lunch, we'll continue our journey to the enchanting Banteay Srei temple, known as the jewel of Khmer art. Admire the intricate carvings on the red sandstone structure, showcasing the artistic mastery of the time. On our way back to Siem Reap, we'll visit Ta Prohm, famous for its appearance in the movie "Tomb Raider." Experience the captivating fusion of the temple and the surrounding jungle, with tree roots embracing the ancient stones, creating a hauntingly beautiful scene.

Wake up early in the morning and head to Phnom Krom, located 13km south of Siem Reap. Climb up the hill to witness a beautiful sunrise over the rice paddies and the floating village of Tonle Sap Lake. Have breakfast at the hotel before departing from Siem Reap to drive to Preah Vihear Temple, which is located 208km away and will take approximately 4 hours. Along the way, make a quick stop to visit Ta Mok's house, situated by a serene lakeside. Ta Mok's house is a simple structure with a bunker in the basement and several wall murals depicting scenes such as Angkor Wat and Prasat Preah Vihear. Enjoy the peaceful ambiance and observe the remaining floor tiles, as the furnishings were looted. Ta Mok, who served as Pol Pot's general commander, passed away in July 2006.

Afterward, have lunch at a local restaurant in Saem and proceed to visit Preah Vihear Temple. Arrive at the checkpoint and switch to a 4WD vehicle to reach the hilltop of Phnom Dangrek, where the temple is located near the Thailand border. Preah Vihear Temple dates back to the 11th century and sits prominently in the Dangrek Mountains, offering sweeping views of Thailand and Cambodia from its elevated position of over 700m. Previously occupied by the Thais, the temple has recently been granted UNESCO World Heritage status. Explore the historical temple and take in the breathtaking vistas from the summit. Descend the hill in the 4WD and continue the journey by our vehicle to Koh Ker for dinner and overnight stay in the campsite within the Koh Ker temple area.

Begin your day with an early picnic breakfast at the campsite. Drive to visit the Kok Ker temples before the crowds arrive. Built in the 10th century, Koh Ker briefly served as the capital of the Khmer Empire from 928 to 944 A.D. The architectural style of Koh Ker sets it apart from other temples in Cambodia, bearing a resemblance to the ancient pyramids of Egypt. Partially covered by the forest and inhabited by birds, this temple and its surroundings offer a unique and extraordinary experience.

After exploring Koh Ker, proceed to the Preah Romkel community located on the Mekong Riverside near the Laos border. Stop for lunch in Preah Vihear Town. Arrive at Preah Romkel around 3 PM, where you can witness the majestic Sopheakmit Waterfall, one of the largest waterfalls in the world. Spanning the Laos-Cambodia border on the Mekong River, this stunning waterfall cascades over a 26km stretch of rocks, presenting a beautiful natural spectacle.

Enjoy breakfast at the community before preparing for the next destination. Bid farewell to the community and board a long-tail boat to cross the river and visit a village in Laos. Learn about the Lao villagers and savor a cup of Lao coffee. Continue the boat journey downstream to Koh Han, which takes approximately 2 hours. Koh Han is located in the Koh Snaeng commune, O Svay district, Stung Treng province. The Somros Koh Han Community-based Ecotourism (CBET) is situated here, and the area is home to a population of 2,749 people, with 1,297 being women. This CBET is situated within a biodiverse landscape, part of the Mekong River's Ramsar site.

Upon arrival, the local hosts will warmly welcome you, and lunch will be provided. Afterward, your guide will give a detailed presentation about the Koh Han community. You will have free time to explore the island at your leisure, and if you wish, the guide can accompany you and take you for a swim in the Mekong River.

After breakfast, we will drive to Stung Treng downtown to visit the bustling Stung Treng Local Market. Known as the largest market in northern Cambodia Mekong, it offers a wide variety of fresh fish for sale in an open-air setting. Here, you can find some of the freshest fish available in the area.

Next, we will continue our journey southward to visit the Irrawaddy Dolphins in Prek Kampi. Board a local boat and enjoy a gentle ride to the dolphin's pools, where you can observe these fascinating creatures up close.

For lunch, we will stop at a local restaurant to enjoy a delicious meal.

Afterward, we will drive to Kratie downtown. You will have free time for leisure, allowing you to explore and enjoy the charms of the city at your own pace.

After breakfast, you will have some free time to relax or explore at your leisure. Later, we will proceed to Kampong Cham City. Our first stop will be at a local village called Koh Pen, which is situated on one of the islands in the Mekong River in Kampong Cham Province.

One of the highlights of Koh Pen is the Bamboo Bridge, which is the longest bamboo bridge in Cambodia. Please note that the bridge is only constructed during the dry season, from December to June when the water level is lower. Accompanied by our tour guide, you will walk across this remarkable bamboo bridge to reach the island. Once there, you will have the opportunity to visit the village, local farms, and a Buddhist monastery.

After exploring Koh Pen, we will drive back to Kampong Cham town for an overnight stay. Dinner will be at your own discretion, allowing you to choose from the local dining options available.

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on a drive to Phnom Penh. Approximately an hour into the drive, we will make a bathroom stop at the Spider Market. Here, you will encounter local vendors selling live tarantulas as well as deep-fried delicacies such as crickets, water bugs, grasshoppers, scorpions, and an assortment of seasonal fruits.

Continuing our journey, we will arrive in Phnom Penh and first visit Wat Phnom. Situated at the center of the city, Wat Phnom is the highest point in the area at 27 meters above sea level. The town that gradually formed around it became known as Phnom Penh, meaning the hill of Penh. It serves as the zero point of the city, and we will explore its significance and beauty.

Next, we will visit Wat Unalom, a Buddhist monastery. This pagoda holds great reverence as the headquarters for one of Cambodia's esteemed Buddhist patriarchs. Additionally, you will find a post-Angkorean stupa within the premises.

Our next stop is Central Market, an iconic building in the capital. Known as Psar Thmei or the New Market, it showcases art deco architecture and features a massive domed hall that resembles a Babylonian ziggurat. Some claim it to be one of the ten largest domes in the world. Our guide will accompany you through the food hall of the market, allowing you to taste a variety of snacks, drinks, fruits, juices, and dishes, which will serve as your lunch.

Continuing our exploration of Phnom Penh, we will visit the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda. These remarkable structures, constructed in 1866 during the French colonial period, exemplify stunning Khmer architecture. The Royal Palace is the residence of the current King Sihamoni, while the neighboring Silver Pagoda boasts a distinctive feature - its floor is adorned with 5,329 solid silver tiles, giving it its name.
