Upon arrival at Luang Prabang Airport, you will be welcomed by your local guide and transferred to your hotel in the heart of UNESCO-listed Luang Prabang. After check-in, the remainder of the day is free at leisure, giving you time to rest after your journey and slowly absorb the peaceful rhythm of this former royal capital. This self-guided time can be spent wandering along quiet lanes lined with colonial-era houses, small temples, riverside cafés, and local shops, or simply relaxing at your hotel.

In the late afternoon, you may enjoy a gentle walk along the Mekong River, a lovely way to experience the calm atmosphere of Luang Prabang at sunset. Dinner is on your own arrangement, allowing you the flexibility to discover Lao cuisine at a local restaurant or enjoy the evening at your own pace.

For early risers, the day begins with a guided experience of the traditional alms-giving ceremony, one of the most meaningful moments in any Luang Prabang city tour. In the soft morning light, saffron-robed monks walk quietly through the streets to receive offerings from local residents, reflecting a daily spiritual practice that remains deeply rooted in Lao culture. Afterward, continue to a local morning market, where villagers sell fresh herbs, vegetables, river fish, seasonal fruits, and everyday produce before returning to the hotel for breakfast.

Later in the morning, continue your guided discovery of Luang Prabang with a visit to Wat Xieng Thong, one of the most important and beautifully preserved temples in Laos. You will then explore the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum, followed by Wat Mai, admired for its refined golden bas-relief and its connection with the sacred Prabang Buddha image. These visits offer a deeper understanding of Lao Buddhist traditions, royal heritage, and the quiet spiritual character that defines UNESCO-listed Luang Prabang.

After lunch, leave the town behind and drive through the countryside toward Kuang Si Waterfall, passing rice fields, small villages, and green rural landscapes along the way. On arrival, take an easy walk along the forest trail and stop at the bear rescue center before reaching the multi-tiered limestone waterfall and its clear turquoise pools. Your guide will provide orientation at the site, followed by free time to take photos, relax by the water, or swim in designated areas if weather and local conditions allow.

This is a soft outdoor activity, but comfortable walking shoes, light clothing, swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, and insect repellent are recommended. After enjoying the natural setting of Kuang Si, return to Luang Prabang for an evening at leisure. Dinner is on your own arrangement, giving you the flexibility to explore local restaurants, riverside cafés, or the relaxed evening atmosphere of the old town at your own pace.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the pier to board a traditional long-tail boat and enjoy a scenic river cruise along the Mekong River to Pak Ou Caves, one of the most atmospheric spiritual sites near Luang Prabang. The upstream journey offers peaceful views of riverside life, limestone hills, fishing boats, and small villages along the riverbanks, making the boat ride an essential part of the experience. On arrival, explore the caves with your guide and see hundreds of Buddha images placed there over generations by local devotees and pilgrims, especially during Lao New Year.

The visit to Pak Ou Caves involves some steps, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Afterward, cruise back toward Luang Prabang and stop at Ban Xangkhong weaving village, a local community known for traditional weaving and handmade paper. Here, you can meet local artisans, observe wooden looms in use, and learn how textiles are produced through techniques passed down within families.

Depending on your flight schedule, you may have a short period of free time in Luang Prabang before transferring to the airport for your departure flight. A 30% deposit is needed to guarantee your booking.
The remaining balance is due at least 10 days before departure.
Once your booking is confirmed, the deposit becomes non-refundable as hotels, guides and local services may be reserved in advance.

In the event of cancellations, the following conditions will apply:
More than 10 days before departure: 30% of total tour price
6–10 days before departure: 50% of the total tour price
3–5 days before departure: 75% of total tour price
Within 3 days before departure or no-show: 100% of total tour price
Cancellation deadlines are calculated based on working days in Vietnam, excluding weekends and public holidays. Please contact our team if your cancellation request falls close to a deadline.

Refunds

Any applicable refunds will be processed after deducting relevant fees and banking charges.
The time it takes to receive your refund may vary based on your payment provider.

We really enjoyed the relaxed start in Luang Prabang, with time to settle in and explore the peaceful old town at our own pace. The next day was a great balance of culture and nature. The Luang Prabang City Tour gave us a better understanding of the temples, local life and Buddhist traditions, especially with the early alms-giving ceremony and the visit to the morning market. Kuang Si Waterfall was one of the highlights of the trip, with beautiful scenery and enough free time to enjoy the area without feeling rushed.
On the final day, the Mekong River Cruise to Pak Ou Caves was calm and scenic, and the visit to the weaving village added a nice local touch before departure.
