After breakfast at your hotel, meet your English-speaking guide and private driver for a full-day journey through three of Hanoi’s traditional craft villages, each known for a distinctive Vietnamese handicraft tradition.

Begin at Bat Trang Pottery Village, a long-established ceramic community on the outskirts of Hanoi. Walk through the old village lanes and visit the Bat Trang Ancient Kiln (Lo Bau Co) to learn how pottery was traditionally fired in the past.

Continue to a local pottery workshop, where you can watch artisans shaping and finishing ceramic pieces by hand. Then enjoy a hands-on pottery experience, trying to make your own piece on a traditional potter’s wheel under the guidance of a local craftsman.

Around midday, enjoy a home-hosted Vietnamese lunch with a local family in Bat Trang, featuring home-style dishes and an opportunity to experience the warm hospitality and everyday atmosphere of village life.

A 30% deposit of the total tour cost is required upon booking.
The remaining balance is due at least 10 days before departure.
Once the deposit is paid, any cancellation will result in the deposit being non-refundable.

More than 10 days before departure: 30% of total tour price
5–10 days before departure: 50% of total tour price
3–5 days before departure: 75% of total tour price
Within 3 days before departure or no-show: 100% of total tour price
Cancellation time is calculated based on working days only, excluding weekends, public holidays, and New Year

I had a wonderful day discovering Hanoi’s traditional craft villages with Auasia Travel. It was a great way to experience more of the local culture and learn about the skills that have been preserved in these communities for generations.
We started at Bat Trang Pottery Village, which was a real highlight for me. Walking through the old village, visiting the traditional kiln and seeing craftsmen working with ceramics gave me a much better understanding of Bat Trang’s pottery heritage. Our guide was extremely friendly and informative, and made the visit both interesting and easy to enjoy.
After a home-style Vietnamese lunch with a local family in Bat Trang, we continued to Ha Thai Lacquer Village. Here, we learned about the detailed process behind traditional lacquerware and had the chance to try decorating a small lacquer piece ourselves.
Our final stop was Van Phuc Silk Village, where we were introduced to Vietnam’s silk-weaving tradition and had some free time to explore the local workshops and shops.
