Upon arrival at Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Depending on your arrival time, the remainder of the afternoon is free to relax after your journey or explore the surrounding area independently.

Conclude the day with dinner and a captivating traditional Apsara dance performance. The graceful choreography, classical costumes and traditional music provide an engaging introduction to Cambodia’s performing arts and cultural heritage.

After the performance, return to your hotel for your first overnight stay in Siem Reap.

After breakfast, meet your private professional guide and begin a full-day exploration of Angkor Thom, the former royal capital of the Khmer Empire. Visit Bayon Temple, renowned for its monumental stone faces, before continuing to Baphuon Temple and Phimeanakas within the former Royal Palace enclosure. Walk through the historic complex to the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King, where detailed carvings reflect the ceremonial life and artistic achievements of the Angkorian period.

Following lunch at a local restaurant, continue to Angkor Wat, Cambodia’s most celebrated temple complex. Explore its monumental towers, spacious courtyards and long galleries while admiring intricate bas-reliefs depicting religious narratives, historical events and scenes of everyday life.

Conclude the afternoon with sunset views in the Angkor area, subject to weather and local access conditions, before returning to your hotel in Siem Reap.

Today’s sightseeing involves extended walking across stone paths, temple steps and uneven surfaces. Comfortable walking shoes, lightweight clothing, sun protection and sufficient drinking water are recommended.

Following breakfast, set out to explore the Angkor Grand Circuit, beginning at the extensive temple complex of Preah Khan. Continue to Neak Pean, a peaceful island sanctuary surrounded by water, before visiting Ta Som and Pre Rup, where distinctive architectural features illustrate different periods of Khmer temple design.

After lunch at a local restaurant, visit Ta Prohm, one of the most atmospheric temples in the Angkor complex. Immense tree roots stretch across weathered walls and ancient doorways, creating a striking combination of architecture and nature.

Continue to Banteay Kdei and the former royal bathing pool of Srah Srang. Conclude the day at Artisans Angkor’s Chantiers-Écoles craft center, where traditional Khmer skills such as stone and wood carving are preserved and passed on to younger generations.

This is an active sightseeing day involving considerable walking across uneven temple grounds. Comfortable footwear, lightweight clothing, sun protection and sufficient drinking water are recommended throughout the day.

After breakfast, travel through the Cambodian countryside to Kbal Spean. From the entrance, follow a moderate jungle trail for approximately 40 minutes to reach the carved riverbed known as the River of a Thousand Lingas. Along the forest route, discover ancient carvings representing Hindu deities and sacred lingas before continuing toward the waterfall area, whose appearance and water level vary according to the season.

After descending from the hill, enjoy a picnic lunch near the base or dine at a local restaurant, depending on the day’s arrangements. Continue to Banteay Srei, a 10th-century temple celebrated for its remarkably detailed carvings in pink sandstone, before visiting Banteay Samre, another well-preserved example of classical Khmer architecture.

On the return journey, stop at a local village to observe aspects of everyday rural life before travelling back to Siem Reap.

The Kbal Spean walk includes uneven ground, narrow forest paths and several steep or potentially slippery sections. A basic level of fitness is needed for this tour. Comfortable walking shoes, insect repellent, sun protection and light rain protection are recommended.

After breakfast, leave Siem Reap and travel toward Tonle Sap Lake to explore Kampong Phluk, a lakeside community recognised for its tall stilted houses and way of life shaped by the seasonal rise and fall of the lake.

Board a local boat and cruise through the village waterways while observing fishing activities, water-based transportation and the daily routines of local families. The journey offers a closer look at how the community adapts to the changing water levels of Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake.

Enjoy lunch during the excursion before returning toward Siem Reap along quieter countryside roads. Pass through rural landscapes and agricultural areas, then stop at a local Buddhist temple to observe the surrounding community, meet local residents and sample traditional snacks. Conclude the day with a transfer back to your hotel in Siem Reap.

Boat routes, boarding locations and village scenery vary according to seasonal water levels, weather and local operating conditions. During periods of low water, parts of the boat journey may be adjusted accordingly.

The remaining balance is due at least 10 days before departure.

6–10 days before departure: 50% of the total tour price
3–5 days before departure: 75% of total tour price
Within 3 days before departure or no-show: 100% of total tour price

Exploring Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple and the magnificent Angkor Wat was unforgettable. I especially enjoyed seeing the detailed carvings and learning more about Cambodia’s history. Ta Prohm was another highlight, with its enormous tree roots growing across the ancient stone structures.
The journey to Kbal Spean offered a refreshing change of scenery. The jungle walk was active but rewarding, and visiting Banteay Srei afterwards was a beautiful experience. Its delicate pink sandstone carvings were among the most impressive sights of the trip.
The boat excursion through Kampong Phluk on Tonle Sap Lake was peaceful and fascinating. Observing the tall stilted houses, fishing activities and daily life along the waterways gave us a different perspective on Cambodia beyond the Angkor temples.
The food throughout the journey was enjoyable, and the arrangements were smooth and well organised. The traditional Apsara dance performance was a lovely introduction to Cambodia. Over the following days, we explored the remarkable temples of Angkor, including Angkor Thom, Bayon, Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm. Each site had its own atmosphere, and seeing the detailed carvings, ancient architecture and enormous tree roots was truly memorable.
The journey beyond the main Angkor temples was equally rewarding. Walking through the forest at Kbal Spean offered a refreshing change of scenery, while the beautiful carvings of Banteay Srei were among the lasting impressions of the trip.
Another highlight was the boat excursion through Kampong Phluk on Tonle Sap Lake. Passing the tall stilted houses and observing everyday life along the waterways allowed us to experience a different side of the Siem Reap region.
